Specifications

Apacer ATA-Disk Chip II (ADC II) is a high performance, embedded flash memory data storage system. This product is well suited for solid-state mass storage applications offering new and expanded functionality while enabling cost-effective designs. The ADC II is a solid-state disk drive that is designed to replace a conventional IDE hard disk drive. The ADC II supports standard ATA/IDE protocol with up to PIO Mode-4 and Multiword DMA Mode-2 interface.

ADC II has a built-in micro controller and file management firmware that communicates with ATA standard interfaces; therefore, the ADC II does not require additional or proprietary host software such as Flash File System (FFS) and Memory Technology Driver (MTD) software.

The ADC II is designed to work at either 5V or 3.3V voltage. It uses a standard ATA driver that is part of all major operating systems such as Windows 95/98/2000/NT/XP/CE, MAC and UNIX.

Every ADC II comes with a factory-programmed, 20Byte long, unique identification numbers for extended data protection. This feature prevents unauthorized duplication by allowing encryption of customer data. The ADC II is packaged in the 600 mil 32-pin DIP package for easy and cost effective mounting to the system motherboard. ADC II also offers user selectable Master/Slave operation through an external setting.

*The actual available memory on the device is less than what is listed on the package. This is due to small discrepancies in file formats and algorithms used by various operating systems. The capacity of Flash memory is shown in "Megabyte" (1MB =1000KB). In Windows environment or DOS mode, 1MB =1024 KB; therefore 1GB is approximately 953MB.
